How do the IELTS band 7 writing lessons work?
During the free trial lesson the teacher will look at one of your past essays and try to understand your weaknesses. Different students have different problems. However, these are the 7 most common problems our teachers see:

Once the teacher knows what you need to work on, they will prepare a course for your needs. Have a look at the steps below.
Step 1
The teacher sends you homework before the lesson
Your teacher will email you homework for the first lesson which will have exercises for your weaknesses and a related task 2 question.

Step 2
Complete the exercises and write the task 2 essay
Practice the exercises and become familiar with the topic ideas, suitable vocabulary and grammatical structures. Then write the task 2 essay and email it to the tutor before the lesson.

Step 3
Book the 1 hour online lesson
Arrange and confirm your time with your IELTS tutor and then meet them on Microsoft Teams, Whatsapp, Google Meet, or traditional telephone lessons (The teacher will call your phone).

Have the lesson with the teacher
During the online lesson, the teacher will give you a link to Google docs and you will both look at your IELTS essay and the teacher will discuss your weak areas and help you understand why you got the score you received.
The next important step is the teacher will show you what would have been needed to obatain a band 7 score.
IELTS Speaking
Lots of practice - Lots of feedback
You will practice all parts of the speaking test, but the main focus will be on part 2 and 3.
The teacher will emphasise speaking questions you have been working in the exercises and homework given to you.
For example, if you are working on ‘the advantages and disadvantages of living in urban areas’ then the teacher might ask you:
“In your experience, what are some of the drawbacks of living in a big city?”
“Tell me about a time when you were stuck in heavy congestion?”
“Why do some people think it’s advantageous to buy a yearly rail or bus ticket?”
